Effort Inflation

If you can give 101 per cent, then why are you holding back on 110 per cent?

And if you're giving 110 per cent, why not 200 per cent?

And if 200 per cent...

Maybe we should just keep (or rather, restore) 100 per cent as the ceiling.

    1. True. I don't like "forever and a day", either. Although some nonsensical phrases I do like: "The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer", for instance.
