St. Eadburh of Bicester

She is my saint of the day on my "Year with the Saints" blog.

My last entry has received a grand total of six views, so I thought I'd plug it again!

  1. I do intend to pass the link on to people if I text them for some other reason, but I haven't really had reason to message anyone except my father, who wasn't sure what to do.....you'll need to bear in mind that a lot of the Irishpapist and conservative forum followers go to the extraordinary form , so the Saints are OFTEN different-today was Camillus de Lellis-but NOT ALWAYS-a young Australian joined ClearCreek Benedictine monastery in Oklahoma, his sister is here in Perth and goes to our church of course: Apparently they use the Novus ordo Saints calendar but the "after Pentecost " Sunday cycle. Anyway it's been good to hear about the lesser known ones the last few days

    1. It is rather strange that Traditionalists seem to be my tribe but I'm not a Traditioanlist. It's like being a boy who was raised by wolves or something. If I wasn't such a contrarian I would have made the leap long ago. Thanks for your promotion, by the way!

  2. I read today that some zoologists are considering reintroducing lynxes to Britain after a thousand year extinction, it would be interesting to see if there's some early English monk or hermit who tamed a wild lynx.

  3. It's probably not right to cultivate a devotion to a saint merely because her name is delightful to say. . .but yes, I would very much enjoy saying, "St. Eadburh, pray for us!" Congrats on the new blog. It's thoroughly intriguing. I look forward to more of it.
