Yesterday my father died, peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at the age of seventy-nine. I wrote this post about him several years ago. Please pray for his soul, and for me.
I am very sorry to hear this news. I read that article at the time you posted it, and re-reading it I now remember how I got the impression that your father was a remarkable man.
May God grant his soul eternal rest, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Maolsheachlann, I only just saw this entry after an absence of some days from your blog. May his soul rest in peace, and may you and your siblings have all the comfort God can offer. Tonight is my turn at Adoration; he, and all of you will be much in my prayers. --Molly
Sorry for the long delay in publishing this comment, Molly. I only saw it now. Things have been hectic. Thank you so much for the prayers, they are hugely appreciated. Maolsheachlann.

Delete"Well done, thou good and faithful servant" would be my expectation of Our Good Lord's greeting to your dear father, Mel.
ReplyDeleteMay we all meet again joyously in Heaven, never again to part.
I expect so too. "I have fought the good fight" was one of our readings at the funeral. Thank you so much for the comment.
