Here is a piece I wrote for the Philip Larkin Society website, back in 2006, about one of Philip Larkin's more impressive pieces of juvenelia.
And here is one of my own poems on Youtube, narrated by a lady called Kirsty Clark and set to a video by the people who run the website This is Hull. I holidayed in Hull around this time, partly out of my interest in Philip Larkin (he was librarian at the University of Hull), partly out of sheer perversity. Who would take a holiday in Hull? I would. The very week I was there, it was voted worst place to live in Britain. The poem has nothing to do with Hull.
