The fact that the Maltese bishops ae now effectively sanctioning adultery makes it clear, I think, that clarification is necessary.
I read the document attentively and with docility. I believe (as one of the four cardinals who issued the duba said) that the problem lies not in the text of the document itself, but in the way it has been interpreted.
Well I suppose a plus side is that Fr Brian D'Arcy is probably over the moon with the statement.

DeleteI don't mean to trivialise the real distress and pressures people are put under in complicated situations, or to stand in judgement on anyone. Goodness knows I can't afford to do that. But it seems like a situation where plain, clear words are called for.
