Happy Feast Day of St. Robert Southwell!

Another opportunity to draw your attention to "The Burning Babe", one of my favourite poems.

May we emulate the courage and witness of this great Jesuit saint!

    I followed the link and read the poem and loved it. But should it not be QUEEN Elizabeth? I don't think she should be elevated to sainthood.

      Thanks for that! Yes, "good Queen Bess" was certainly not THAt good, if she was good at all...

    Believe it or not we actually had mass on his honour in our church even though we're not Jesuits and not English and not poets. According to notes available in the church some of his experimental poetry may have "influenced Shakespeare among others"
